books for children with reading difficulties

Good News for All those who struggle with the printed word: Bookshare – the world’s largest online library for those with reading difficulties – is launching in India, making the wonderful world of classic literature, children’s books, textbooks, journals and newspapers accessible to those with dyslexia, low vision or visual impairment at the click of a mouse and a nominal charge. Please share the flyer below with youngsters and adults you know who would benefit from this service.

We welcome our members to a demonstrations by a Bookshare representative at our Parel Centre on the 16th December 2009 , from 4pm to 5.30pm , venue as follows

Please allow me to introduce to you www.Bookshare.in - the world's largest online library for the print-disabled. Anyone with a print disability is eligable for membership. This includes those with visual impairments and dyslexia.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch or check out the website to learn more. Certification of dyslexia is required, but is easily done, just contact one of the names listed at the end of this email.

Books without Barriers
People with print disabilities deserve to enjoy reading as much as other readers. Bookshare.org is an online digital library that has over 8,000 books in English in accessible formats. Members can read books using any assistive technology such as: DAISY, BRF and text file formats.

It costs Rs.400 for an annual membership. If you have a visual impairment, a physical disability that makes it hard to hold a book or turn pages, or a learning disability, such as dyslexia, you can become a member.
