Dear All,

On Sunday 12 December 2010, as the sun comes close to setting over the Mumbai skyline, a large group will walk along the sea strip of Marine Drive to raise awareness about a little-known area of childhood development: developmental disabilities. We at Ummeed invite you to be a part of this inspirational event.
The Ummeed Walk is a key event for Ummeed. We use it as a way to build community, raise awareness and raise funds. It is an extremely energizing experience for the Ummeed staff, our patients, their parents and our numerous supporters to see everyone turn out in such large numbers to support Ummeed.
This year, we would like the walk to be even bigger and better and we hope that we have your support.
Here’s what you can do:
· Spread the Word among your family and friends and make sure they show up for the walk. Ask them to spread the word further so we can add a lot of new members to the Ummeed family.
· Bring your Kids so the Ummeed Walk becomes a family day out
· Sport the Ummeed T-shirt.
· Confirm your presence by emailing ummeedwalk@gmail.com
The Ummeed Walk takes place on Sunday 12 December 2010 at 4.30pm. Please gather opposite NCPA at Nariman Point. We will walk till the Princess Street flyover and back to NCPA.
Looking forward to seeing you in large numbers at the Ummeed Walk!

An online review on Carol’s book "The Out of Sync Child"

“If you are a parent or a teacher of a child with bewildering or inconsistent behavior problems, this book explains comprehensively and clearly the often conflicting symptoms of children with SI dysfunction. Most exciting is the hope that children can now be diagnosed at an early age so they can begin OT therapy when it has a chance to be its most effective. Also exciting is the knowledge that there are many simple things that parents and teachers can do at home and in the classroom to improve the functioning of SI kids. I have recommended this book to dozens of parents who have come back to buy copies for their child's teacher. The book contains an excellent resources guide, too! P.S. Carol Kranowitz does a fabulous job presenting about SI dysfunction at professional workshops. See her if you have the chance.”
